6 Ways to Fix the World and I'm Not Just Talking BBQ
Henry Posey
Is it worth it to stop and smell the roses?
#1. Happiness is a choice; choose it often.
It's also extremely contagious! We let too many things that do not make our lives better or help us make other's life better bring us down. Politics, social media, and the news are happiness killers. Several times a week, we need to turn it all off and get in an outdoor living room with friends and family to connect and be happy.

#2. Who's your neighbor?
Are you like me, sharing oxygen, the road, and an occasional hand wave with most of your neighbors - barely knowing their name or not at all? Saying hi or a how are you doing can make someone's day or even save their life. One day every month, invite a neighbor over for an outdoor BBQ. Your neighborhood will change, and so will your heart.

#3. Share the most important thing you have with others.
Your time. For most of us, time produces wisdom. Wisdom doesn't exist unless you share it with someone. So next time you're getting the car fixed, or bored with people around, or having a family get together - share some of those hard knocks and a little of the good stuff. While everyone else is arguing over the events of the day, you will be dishing insight on how to make the world better. A backyard hangout is an ideal place to open our ears and minds to absorb that wisdom.

#4. Be thankful and gracious first.
In our rat race FOMO world, where "us" is always first and more is never enough, why do we still have problems and struggle to find happiness? We've lost an appreciation for how we are blessed. If our first thoughts every day are of our family, the people in our lives, and our relationships, our hearts will be thankful for all we have, and we will strive more for what matters most. We will want to create perfect places in our backyard to expand and grow our relationships - like an outdoor kitchen.

#5. Self-talk.
Dear Henry, please raise your expectations of yourself and have accommodating expectations of others. With all your dollars and "sense," don't be self-centered; it's not all about you. And follow the charge you layout for your children every morning when dropping them off at school:
- Be the best version of you; you can be.
- Make someone else's life better.
- Leave the place better than you found it.
p.s. Always bring your "A-game" when creating and designing someone's outdoor living space.

#6. Rest, relax, and re-charge.
You have everything you need; anything else is a want. You do more than needs to be done. Shut it all down! One day a week do something different. Don't buy anything, don't watch the news, don't go anywhere you usually go, and don't plugin. Give your mind and body a break. Monday will thank you for it. Let me suggest improving your outdoor culinary skills on some made in the USA outdoor appliances in an outdoor kitchen.

To sum it up,
the world is a messy place. We the people have made it that way, and only we can fix it. If we start with fixing ourselves first and then those closest to us, we will be well on our way to making the world a better place. By the way, did I mention that a gorgeous backyard hangout with an outdoor kitchen is a great way to start?
